On Tuesday, September 16th, the Queer Cultural Center will launch its second event of their new Emerging Scholars Program: Along Racial Lines: Maureen Burdock and Nancy Cato in Conversation.

Artist Maureen Burdock (MFA/MA, 2014) will discuss her current research on narrative structures in graphic novels and cartoon art and show examples of her most recent project, Mumbi, & the Long Run. Nancy Cato will discuss her artistic development and show excerpts from her current exhibition, Tom Boy, at the African American Art and Culture Complex.

This event is co-presented by the Cartoon Art Museum, and will be moderated by Jackie Francis (VCS Faculty) and Pamela Peniston, the Queer Cultural Center’s Artistic Director.
