Allan deSouza is a multi-media artist whose photography, installation, text and performance works restage historical evidence through counter-strategies of fiction, erasure, and (mis)translation. Using tactics of visual mapping and narrative, deSouza’s photoworks record pathways through psychogeographical and political encounters that invoke histories of diaspora and cultural migration. DeSouza is Associate Professor in the Department of Art Practice at UC Berkeley. His work has been exhibited internationally.
