Julia Bryan-Wilson, a visiting scholar at CCA this semester, is an Associate Professor at UC Irvine in both the Art History Department and the PhD program in Visual Studies. Wilson’s current project involves the examination of queer craft and debates about the politics of handmade art since 1970. At CCA, she is teaching craft theory, and is also involved in coordinating the Craft Symposium to be held at CCA in spring 2011. Her book Art Workers: Radical Practice in the Vietnam War Era was named a ‘best book of 2009’ by Artforum magazine.
