is a curator, writer, and PhD Candidate in Art History at Stanford University. He received his MA in film & video studies from York University. Before enrolling at Stanford, he was a contemporary art curator in Canada at The Power Plant, Oakville Galleries, and the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto. His writing on cinema, media, and contemporary art has been published widely. In 2009 he published a book on Paul Morrissey’s film Trash. Jon’s current research focuses on queer pedagogy and the camera as a catalyst for artists’ sexual and social experimentation.
